Toxicosis during pregnancy

In the first trimester, future mothers often face such a difficult problem as toxicosis. This unpleasant condition is associated with hormonal changes in the body, which happens differently for each woman. Symptoms of toxicosis are nausea and vomiting, in rare cases - salivation, dermatosis, muscle cramps.

It is harder for women who, before the onset of this situation, had liver, thyroid, stomach and intestinal diseases, inflammation of the genital organs, and moreover in such situations possible abortions. Scientists have not yet been able to determine the main causes of toxicosis. With severe stages of its manifestation, the expectant mother needs to see a doctor, pass all tests and, if necessary, go to the hospital. With a mild course of the disease, this problem can be solved independently.

In order to alleviate the state during toxemia, it is necessary, first of all, to pay attention to proper nutrition.Eat at this time should be often about five or six times a day. The diet should include as much as possible of fresh vegetables and fruits. Preference should be given to those that contain a lot of water - grapes, melons, watermelons.

Products must be healthy, easy to digest and contain all the necessary vitamins. During this period, it is better to refuse fried, smoked, spicy and fatty foods. If nausea or vomiting bother you in the morning, it is necessary, without getting out of bed, to have something to eat - an apple, yogurt, or croutons.

If this happens in the afternoon, it is often associated with nervous tension or fatigue, in which case it is recommended to drink a cup of herbal tea with mint or melissa. Some are well helped by sauerkraut or pickles, as well as drinks from cranberries or lemon. During toxicosis, it is better to avoid odors, do not use perfumes, shower gels and air fresheners.

It is imperative to quit smoking and avoid premises with smokers, as this all adds to nausea. Pregnant women are recommended to relax more in the fresh air. By the beginning of the second trimester, for most women, all the unpleasant symptoms of toxemia disappear. Therefore, it is important to transfer this state calmly and set yourself up only for positive emotions.
