The Handbag Style This French Girl Loves
Switching handbags can besucha hassle. Between your headphones, kirby grips and loose coins, your bag houses all of the items you can’t make it through the day without. That’s why finding a style that fits them all and works for every occasion is the ultimate game changer. Imagine never again hurriedly downsizing to a more evening-appropriate bag.
Parisian-turned-Londoner Camille Charrière knows this struggle all too well. As a fashion blogger, she’s constantly rushing around the city, and she isn’t willing to sacrifice her daily essentials in the name of style. “My perfect handbag needs to fit my iPhone, Kevyn Aucoin concealer, keys, Kiehl’s lip balm and my neon-pink cardholder. It should also be easy to mix and match with anything while making enough of a statement to tie an outfit together—not an easy equation to get right!”
Luckily, Charrière has found the answer with her new favourite bag, the Bally Suzy in Rosehaze (or as Charrière calls it, “a happy mauve colour”). She tells us she fell in love with the versatile hue and jewellery-like gold chain, but most importantly, it’s the perfect size to fit all of her essentials. Keep reading to see how Charrière styles the handbag for three different occasions throughout her week.
On-Trend at Brunch
A typical Sunday in London for Charrière starts with brunch with friends. For the occasion, she chose two trends that are easy to incorporate into your repertoire: oversize sleeves and statement booties. And since the majority of her wardrobe consists of neutrals, Charrière likes to spice things up with accessories. “Against the black and white, I wanted the colours to really pop, so I played on another big trend of the season: clashing red and pink,” she explains.
Ready for The Workweek
Due to the notoriously unpredictable London weather and her equally unpredictable schedule, Charrière likes to keep things practical and versatile when it comes to her weekday style. “This outfit is functional with my most comfy sneakers so I can walk to all of my meetings, but it still has a serious high-fashion edge about it,” she says. That shines through with the oversize trench coat and gold hardware on the Suzy bag.
French Girl Night-Out Style
Although she currently lives in London, Charrière will always be a Parisian at heart. Under her oversize English wool coat, she wears her signature French-girl look for a night out: black skinnies, an unbuttoned silk shirt and black boots. Of course, no Parisian ensemble is complete without an unexpected twist on an otherwise simple outfit. “The bandana is making a bit of a comeback, and I like the idea of switching things up [and] wearing it [around my] wrist, [around my] neck or tied to my bag.”
Convinced? Shop the versatile Bally Suzy, so that you'll never have to worry about switching your bag between outfits again.
