How to eliminate chuck beating in a screwdriver
Sometimes there is a problem of beating the cartridge in a screwdriver or a drill. The instrument was presented or it was purchased a long time ago, the defect was not noticed in time, there is no check and there is no way to make a claim. And working with such a screwdriver is very difficult or impossible.I accidentally found a solution to this problem. His old screwdriver did not immediately check, then he discovered the play of the patron. Drilling with such a tool was possible only at very low revs. I ordered a new one with a power supply, which had exactly the same defect. There are a lot of spots on the Internet about this problem, but I did not find it necessary for me. I decided to sort it out myself, remove the cartridge and replace it with a domestic one - it will suddenly fit.The bolt had to be twisted with an effort due to the applied thread retainer. There were even more problems with the patron.I had to hold the screwdriver in a vice, insert the key for 16 and with the help of the stop at high speeds only with the third attempt managed to remove the cartridge, which was very tight. The domestic cartridge does not fit the thread. It remained to buy a new one. But first I decided to try again. Set in place the old cartridge, not tightening it strongly. Tighten the bolt and tried to put the drill. It turned out that the gap was gone. Then I began to figure out why after removing and installing the cartridge, the backlash disappears. It turned out that there is a backlash, while the cartridge is not clamped. The defect may remain or disappear depending on how the cartridge is pressed against the surface of the screwdriver. Metal surfaces in the installation site are machined on the machine and must be installed exactly. The backlash appears with a very strong tightening. It turns out that a part of the surface is pressed more strongly, and some - weaker. There is a slight bias along the entire length of the chuck and, as a result, the beat of the drill. In the same way I removed the chuck beating in the new screwdriver. There the bolt is turned with a Phillips screwdriver. He took off the cartridge and put it in place, without clamping too tightly. Backlash in this case also disappeared. I remembered that on a curve the chucker complained to a neighbor who bought a drill in an OBI store. We unscrewed the cartridge from the drill and set it in place, carefully fixing it. The defect has disappeared. So this method can be useful for those who have a chuck in a screwdriver or a drill.
Remove the beating of the screwdriverTo remove the cartridge, you must unscrew the bolt with the left-hand thread. Turned the key clockwise.
