How is the conception of a child?

Conception is the process of the birth of a new life. The mechanism is complex, highly organized and thought out to the last detail by nature. How is the conception of a child? Let's try to understand this question, without resorting to medical terms.
About natural conception
The conception process is preceded by sexual intercourse between a man and a woman, the future parents of a child. Of course, today science works wonders, and if a couple for some reason cannot have children, they will come to the aid of modern ways of solving this problem (for example, in vitro fertilization). In this case, some stages of natural conception are performed not by the body, but by medical scientists in special laboratories. We will consider the stages of conception during natural fertilization.
First, consider the main participants of conception - the egg cell and sperm.
The egg cell is a female reproductive single cell, the life span of which is 24 hours from the time it leaves the ovary (sex gland). This process of separating a mature egg from the ovary is called ovulation.
Sperm cell is a male reproductive cell, which is released during a single ejaculation in the amount of 200-500 million pieces! He is able to actively move, although by human standards his speed of movement is negligible - 3 mm. per second. The male sex cell lives in the woman’s body on average for 3-5 days. Therefore, the most favorable period of conception is the day of ovulation and some time before and after this process.
As a result of ejaculation, sperm enters mostly in the posterior vaginal fornix. Here is the “mucus plug”, which draws in sperm and returns with it to the uterus. Then sperm continue to move independently. The woman's body is designed so that sperm is quite easy to determine where the egg is, because The egg cell produces special substances that attract them, while the male cells themselves have the ability to move to this signal. Of course, not all get to the egg cell itself (part of the sperm cells die in the acidic environment of the vagina), but a large number of sperm cells are moving forward. But an ovum fertilizes just one of them! The rest play the role of helpers: they unwind the egg cell with their “attacks”, making it more friable, and also dissolve its layers with the help of a special liquid. Sperm becomes easier to get on the paved paths to the nucleus of the egg. As soon as one of the male germ cells penetrates the egg, its membrane turns into “armor”, which is no longer “pierced”. The remaining sperm cells eventually die. Next, the egg and sperm nuclei merge, creating the first cell of the new organism - the zygote.
How is the conception of a child going on? The first days of the zygote feed on the substances that the egg itself has stored. At this time, the fertilized female sex cell moves through the fallopian tubes into the uterus and already there forms the placenta, which will nourish the baby from now until birth. So, after about 2 weeks, in the absence of menstruation, a woman can make an assumption about her pregnancy.
The process of conception, as can be seen, is a rather complicated mechanism. But it is only the first stage of fetal development. The baby still needs a lot of time and energy to develop and be born.
